Fun Factor
What drew me into buying this toy was the aggressive, industrial look of the toy which stands out from a lot of other dog toys which can all start to look the same after a while. It has a pattern of grooves on it that looks similar to a tire tread which looks great and gives both you and the dog a bit of added grip. With a firm hold on both ends we’re able to have some pretty good tug sessions.
Quality & Durability
Another thing that drew me to this toy was that it’s made of a heavy gauge rubber that is nice and dense enough that would take a lot of chewing and not tear or shred which after a few months is proving to be true. It also has a nice amount of give and flex that it will stretch when both sides are pulling which is nice as it will conform to your hand and your dogs mouth.
Safety
As mentioned with the grip, rubber density and flex of the toy everything combines nicely into something quite durable and safe for both your dog and your hand. The amount of flex in the rubber will also ensure that the tug toy does crack, chip or flake for a very long time.
Indoor: With any tug toy playing tug indoors is fine as long as you’re aware of your surroundings. If you are throwing it around as a fetch toy it doesn’t bounce much but is heavy enough to knock things over.
Outdoor: The tread grip can definitely pick up some dirt if thrown around the yard. Wash as needed if used outside.
Value
Seeing as how I can barely find a bite mark on this thing is remarkable considering the rough tug play times we’ve had. It has only been a few months so far but is on track to be considered an indestructible tug toy.
Final Thoughts
Eli enjoys this toy; he frequently pulls it out of the dog toy crate so we can play. I enjoy it as well because it’s easy to grip and has some flex to it. It also doesn’t get too slobbery as fabric or rope tug toys do. Based on how it has held up so far we’ll be using it for years to come.
